The GPO kicks off its 109th concert season celebrating some of the most famous and prolific composers of all time, including Ludwig van Beethoven and John Williams. Featuring Andy Dahlke, UNC’s professor of saxophone and the Philadelphia Orchestra’s first-call saxophonist, the GPO will take you on a journey through the land and the skies performing John Williams’ Escapades from Catch Me if You Can. Enjoy additional sky-themed pieces withTchaikovsky’s rumbling Storm Overture and Symphony No. 6, Beethoven’s “pastoral” symphony inspired by bird songs.
