The courage and sacrifice of our military veterans should never be forgotten. Saturday, Dec. 19 is National Wreaths Across America Day; people across the country come together to remember our fallen, honor those who serve, and teach younger generations the value of freedom. Greeley’s Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Ave., is a site where Wreaths Across America Day is being celebrated.
Attend the Ceremony
The ceremony to honor veterans begins at 10 a.m. on Dec. 19. Please practice social distancing; keep 6-feet away from people who are not in your household.
Sponsor a Wreath
Honor veterans and first responders by sponsoring a wreath for $15. Donations can be made online or paid for at the Linn Grove main office. Send checks to P.O. Box 336173, Greeley, CO 80633. The deadline for sponsoring an evergreen wreath for a veteran buried at Linn Grove Cemetery is Monday, Nov. 30.
Volunteers are needed on the day of the event to lay holiday wreaths on our hometown heroes’ headstones and recognize their service to our nation. There are more than 1,800 veterans buried at Linn Grove.
