Carol Jeanotilla and Victoria Eubanks will present their exhibit “Before & After” at the Tointon Gallery, 651 10th Ave. The exhibit will be on display Friday, December 6 through Saturday, January 4. “Before & After” presents new work that literally and figuratively displays each artist’s journey through life. In Jeanotilla’s case, she is plainly putting the pieces back together through art after a life-altering event. Eubanks, on the other hand, addresses the seemingly simple decisions that ultimately define one’s experiences. It is a joyful collection reflecting both a physical and spiritual transformation.

Jeanotilla works in mixed media construction that is exquisitely engineered and curated. The disparate components become soft and unified, creating elegant pieces that become greater than the sum of their parts.

In opposition, Eubanks works in the ancient medium of encaustic. Her paintings evolve from layered molten wax with a translucent and reflective quality, mirroring the process by which we slowly build our lives. Both artists are champions of the spirit.

An artist talk and reception is scheduled for First Friday, on Friday, December 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. and a closing reception is scheduled for Friday, January 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission to the gallery is free and visitors may view the exhibit when the Tointon Gallery is open. The Gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and during many of the performances at the Union Colony Civic Center.

The Tointon Gallery presents over ten shows annually to provide enjoyment, education and to encourage dialogue around art.  To learn more about Greeley’s public gallery, please visit greeleyart.com or contact Kim Snyder at kim.snyder@greeleygov.com.
